Under Armour Boxerjock Review: The World’s Best Underwear?

Under Armour’s Boxerjock is arguably the best-selling men’s underwear line in the world. More accessible than a pair of Calvin’s, more affordable than a pair of Tommy John’s, and more style options than pretty much every brand at this price point.

Fussy about what color boxers you wear?

Fine. The Under Armour Boxerjock comes in a veritable rainbow of colors and prints.

Need a specific inseam length to feel comfortable as you go about your day?

No problem. The Under Armour Boxerjock comes in a 3” and 6” inseam to suit your lifestyle.

So has Under Armour delivered—as the hype would suggest—the world's best underwear?

I ordered three pairs to find out.

The Under Armour Boxerjock Review: The Lineup

Here's my opinion on three different Under Armour Boxerjock underwear options.

Under Armour Men’s Charged Cotton 6” Boxerjock

Men’s Charged Cotton 6” Boxerjock

The Men’s Charged Cotton Boxerjock uses UA’s proprietary cotton-but-better fabric for a faster drying time, more stretch, and lighter wear. This is supposed to be ideal for staying dry during a workout or in sticky situations.

The Charged Cotton Boxerjock with 6” seam comes in a range of neutral shades with solid black UA branded waistband, as well as a funky blue camo and something else—I want to say animal print but I don’t know what animal that is.

At their price point, these sit firmly at the high-end of the mainstream market.

Men’s Charged Cotton 6” Boxerjock Pros & Cons

Pros

  • UA’s Charged Cotton is ultra-breathable and easy to wear all day. It’s soft and comfortable, and lets a little air circulate around the nuts and bolt when I’m wearing basketball shorts.
  • Second-skin feel—which Under Armour call next-to-skin without the squeeze—stays fitted and stays in place. No ride-up, no roll-down, and no bunching.
  • Excellent stretch works four ways to move with the body and keep up with you. That means you avoid chafing around the thighs and waist. For testing purposes I let my girlfriend put me through some yoga moves—and even though I failed hard, I can tell you with certainty that the Charged Cotton Boxerjock didn’t fail me.

Cons

  • Watch your sizing, fellas. I’ve had this issue across the Under Armour brand before: they run small. If you don’t plan on letting UA put the tighty in your tighty-whities, order a size up for more comfort and less crushing in the butt and thigh area.

Best For…

Guys who are active or anyone living in a warmer climate. These underwear have exceptional breathability.

Overall opinion of the Under Armour Charged Cotton 6” Boxerjock

Under Armour Charged Cotton Boxerjocks are hella comfortable, cool, and breathable—and they last well enough that the price tag isn’t an issue. 6 months in, I’ve got no pilling, balling up, or fading.

Under Armour Men’s UA Tech 3” Boxerjock

Men’s UA Tech 3” Boxerjock

Under Armour use a sweat-wicking, cool-dry technology in their UA Tech fabric to create the best-selling underwear on the market. It’s hailed by men everywhere for keeping you cool and snug and keeping the twig and berries in place no matter what you’ve got going on.

The UA Tech 3” Boxerjock has a shorter inseam for those who like a minimal feel that still gives a thigh buffer for less chafing.

It also comes in a multitude of neutral colors and a few bolds: like red and royal blue.

At $35 per pair—or $60 for a 2-pack—these are a pricey number. Fortunately, they’re well worth the price tag…mostly.

Men’s UA Tech 3” Boxerjock Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Articulated mesh fly panel and gusset for comfort and breathability around the twins.
  • Seamless back and sides for extra comfort and minimal chafing.
  • No-slip performance waistband looks and feels high-quality, and keeps everything in place.
  • Anti-odor tech helps minimize the growth of bacteria and keep you fresher throughout the day.
  • Moisture-wicking fabric to keep you cool and dry.
  • 90% Polyester / 10% Elastane feels stretchy and athletic, but adds durability.

Cons

  • Why are Under Armour still using sewn-in tags? There’s already a label stamped on the interior back panel of the Boxerjocks, and high-profile branding all over the waistband, so what reason is there to insert a sew-in label that reaches half way down the butt crack?

Maybe, like me, you rip the back labels out of your gear. You’re still left with the minor irritation of that little stumpy part of the tag sewn in, and there’s no need for it in premium men’s underwear anymore.

Best For…

Any activity, or no activity at all. Super-comfortable for all day wear.

Overall opinion of the Under Armour UA Tech 3” Boxerjock

The 3” inseam is definitely my preference for everyday wear, although I prefer a 6” inseam when I’m working out. Either way, it’s all about personal preference. The UA Tech line is comfortable, soft, and resilient—I’ve been putting these underwear through their paces with high-intensity workouts for months now, and they’re standing up to the challenge.

Under Armour Men's UA Tech Mesh 6" Boxerjock

Men's UA Tech Mesh 6" Boxerjock

This is the pair I really had my eye on from the outset. An all-over mesh version of the uber-popular UA Tech Boxerjock, this one is guaranteed to increase ventilation, wick moisture away, and keep the boys cool down below.

As a Florida native, I adjusted to the heat a long time ago. The twig and berries don’t feel the same way, so finding a line of underwear that offers superior ventilation and breathability is a must for me.

The UA Tech Mesh 6” also looks damn good. The range only offers black, blue, and navy styles, but with the solid tone performance waistband with matte branding, you look fly on the go.

Speaking of fly—the UA Tech Mesh underwear have the same comfort cupping for your tackle, and soft working fly.

Men's UA Tech Mesh 6" Boxerjock Pros & Cons

Pros

  • This is UA’s supreme offering for breathability, moisture-wicking, and ventilation around the nether-regions. They also dry ultra-fast.
  • Performance waistband keeps everything in place, no riding up or rolling down.

Cons

  • None. Excellent underwear for a hot climate or intense workouts.

Best For…

Summer, the gym, pounding the pavement, or getting work done around the backyard.

Overall opinion of the Under Armour UA Tech Mesh 6" Boxerjock

If I had to rank these 3 offerings from Under Armour, the Men’s UA Tech Mesh Boxerjock would easily claim the top spot—but the other two pairs wouldn’t be too far behind.

Is the Under Armour Boxerjock the Best Underwear for Men?

When it comes to Under Armour underwear, the trick is to order the right size for your body type, and know in advance what you want out of your underwear.

With a brand that offers this level of style, comfort, and durability, you can’t go wrong with any of their range.
