Saxx Underwear Review: The Best Your Balls Can Get

If you'd have told me ten years ago that 2020 would be the year that a global pandemic hit and I stayed home eating ice cream, tapping away at my keyboard for 23 hours a day, I'd have called you a liar. But here we are. And with this turn of unfortunate events, it got me thinking — my underwear isn't all that comfortable.

Seriously, this thought took me down a huge wormhole of realizing everything that was wrong with my undies.

They would ride up as soon as I sat down, my balls would constantly slap against my thigh while I walked (TMI? maybe!) causing awful chafing, and the sweat... well, I won't go into that.

But basically, my genitals weren't thanking me for the jail I put them in every day.

So, I decided to do something about it. The only problem was, what?

Saxx Underwear Review

Honestly, I didn't think I'd be able to find something that fit my needs. But then my mouse found Saxx. Specifically, it found the Vibe line (yes, they have others).

Straight away I was bowled over by the sheer number of patterns and colors they had to choose from. Not to mention that their slogan tickled me — "for those with balls". But (that's but not butt with a TT) the price had me SHOOK.

Was I really about to spend that much on some boxer briefs? Yes. Yes, I was.

I took a shot in the dark so you don't have to. Did it pay off? Yup! Let's get into that.

How Saxx Underwear Fits

Saxx Underwear Review

Okay, my testes felt like they were on cloud nine. However, it didn't start that way.

To be totally honest with you, the Vibe boxer briefs took quite a bit of getting used to. Why? The patented BallPark Pouch. It changes the underwear game.

This meshing is basically a hammock for your balls. It gives them a nice soft hug and eliminates that unpleasant ball to leg slap that occurs more often than we'd care to admit (try and deny it). Yup, no more rubbing soothing gel on your inner thigh after you've walked around the block. True bliss!

But as I said, you need to take some time to get used to this 3D testicle sling before you get to experience this never-felt-before comfort. At the end of the day, the initial "what is this?" reaction is worth it.

As far as the rest of the fit goes, I loved it. The fabric didn't ride up my leg when I sat down or went for those (rare) jogs. Nor did the waistband creep under my ice cream pouch or make me feel restricted. All was good.

The Seams

Saxx Underwear Review

Traditional boxer briefs tend to have seams that stick out and poke your crown jewels. At least, I've always had a problem with this. However, Saxx uses something called "flat out seams", which is their trademark stitching style.

Essentially, they've reversed how boxers are made. With their underwear, the softer, flatter side of the seams are against your skin. The goal? To offer an itch-free wearing experience.

To tell you the truth, I didn't think it would make much of a difference. I'd read all the information I could about this technology before I bought them and I just... wasn't fazed by it.

However, when I slipped them on and started my day, I felt less irritated in my precious nether regions. Truly, I didn't need to itch or rearrange. Finally! It's been a long time coming.

Saxx Fabric, Moisture-Wicking Properties, and Breathability

Saxx Underwear Review

It's made from 95% viscose fabric and 5% spandex. If you've been wearing 100% cotton boxers your whole life, this probably shocks you. But let me tell you, this fabric will change your cotton-loving opinion.

Viscose works to wick the moisture away. I'm one of those guys who tends to sweat quite a lot (sorry, I can't help it). And because of this, I always struggled with the lack of breathability in my round the butt nut huts.

The Vibe range, however, changed the game.

My balls no longer felt like they were sat in a swamp of their own excrement. Ah yes, freedom!

How Durable is Saxx Underwear?

I've washed them quite a lot now (you'll be pleased to know) and I haven't noticed any wear. Viscose and mesh webbing aren't typically known for their durability. But, somehow, it seems to be holding up well against my constant wear and wash cycle.

In my lowly opinion, the seams play a big part in this. I've never seen tighter seams on any boxer briefs ever before. The Vibe range impressed me.

What I Loved... & What I Didn't Love...

What I Loved...

  • An overwhelmingly high number of patterns and colors to choose from. I know this won't appeal to most people but I love getting a bit funky with the design.
  • No chafe, no itch! I know. It seems like a pretty tall order but it did deliver for me and down-there guys.
  • They're COMFORTABLE. Need I say more?
  • The BallPark Pouch gave me a cloud-nine like feeling.

What I Didn't Love...

  • No fly. I won't lie to you, I did miss this a little bit. But, Saxx sacrificed this to accommodate the BallPark Pouch. Would I rather have a fly? No, but I did feel a bit lost without it to begin with.
  • Even though they're not as expensive as other brands, I felt indulgent buying them. They are worthy of the price point though. Your downstairs region will thank you, I promise.

Should You Go Saxx for Your Sack?

If you haven't guessed already, you should absolutely go Saxx for your sack. Only if you can justify the price though. While they're worth the money, I know that not everyone feels comfortable spending this much.

Maybe you can whack it on your Christmas list? You won't be disappointed. But if, for some reason, you are, blame it on me. That way, your wife/husband/partner won't want to attack you for spending your hard-earned dollars on some undies.
