10 Best Men’s Underwear For Every Guy

Being immaculately dressed does more than make you look good; it also makes you feel good about yourself. Underwear typically doesn’t get the same respect as other articles of clothing just because it’s rarely seen by others, but that doesn’t change how much of an influence it has on your comfort.

Finding the best underwear for your needs can be a bit of a pain. Regardless of whether you prefer briefs, boxers, or boxer-briefs, nobody wants to end up with underwear that pinches or causes any other kind of discomfort. Unfortunately, you’ll never know if that’s the case until you’ve already bought a pack.

This is why we've assembled this list of the ten best choices of men's underwear on the market. In our expert reviews, we'll look at the major pros and cons of our favorite underwear choices, and we'll describe how they feel and what makes them better or worse than the competition.

Before we get to the ten best choices of male underwear, however, let’s go over some of the points to consider when you’re looking for the right pair for your needs. Knowing what to look for in the best underwear is one of the most crucial parts of the buying process. Couple that with the insider knowledge of our reviews, and you’ll be set!

Top 10 Best Men's Underwear

Let's jump right into our list of the ten best pairs of men's underwear.

ASERLIN MEN’S SHORT LEG BOXER BRIEFS

Pro: Roomy and comfortable
Con: Waistband can be narrow

3D Convex Pouch: The first thing you’ll notice when you put this pair of underwear on is how much space you have. While other pairs will make you feel constricted and bunched up, these boxer briefs from ASERLIN give you enough room to be comfortable without getting that loose boxer-like feeling.

These boxer briefs are made of 95% cotton, and you can feel it when you wear them, as the material is both soft and supple. If you're tired of underwear that chafes and feels like it's rubbing your legs raw, then you'll love the feel of these short-legged boxer briefs from ASERLIN.

Of course, no pair of underwear is without its faults, but there isn’t much to complain about with these boxer briefs apart from the slightly tight waistband. Unlike the products from other companies, it seems like the waistbands don’t come pre-loosened for additional comfort, though some may prefer a tighter fit.

HANES ULTIMATE MEN’S BOXER BRIEFS

Pro: Legs don't ride up
Con: Loose fit around the legs

ComfortSoft Fabric Construction: Up next, we have a pair of boxer briefs from Hanes, one of the most popular men’s underwear brands, and with good reason. These briefs have done well to uphold the company’s pedigree, as they are much more comfortable than many competing models.

Key to the improved comfort of these boxer briefs is the ComfortSoft fabric that is used in their construction. Of course, moisture absorption suffers a little bit due to the 100% cotton used in the making of these briefs, but it’s a sacrifice that we were willing to make in exchange for improved softness.

Beyond the comfort, you’ll find that these boxer briefs typically stay in position when you’re moving around, as they are tight enough not to ride up on your legs. You never really notice how much of a relief it is to wear non-ride up underwear until you experience a day without your briefs bunching up.

LAPASA MEN’S SPORT BOXER BRIEFS

Pro: Breathable fabric
Con: Fabric can be abrasive

Durable Fabric Mesh: These sport boxer briefs from LAPASA are made for customers who live an active lifestyle. By this, we don’t mean that this underwear is only meant for sports and exercise, but that it is also optimal for buyers who typically do a lot of walking over the course of their day.

Since these briefs use a breathable mesh, you’ll find that they’re much more comfortable to wear over the course of a long day. Since the fabric lets air through, your crotch area won’t get as sweaty (which is always a plus) and any sweat that does pop up is quickly wicked away by the fabric.

Unfortunately, comfort takes a bit of hit with this pair of underwear due to the nylon and spandex construction of this pair. While these materials can’t compete with the softness of cotton, it is a necessary trade-off for the excellent absorption and breathability of this underwear.

adidas Mens Sport Performance Climalite Boxer Brief Underwear

Pro: Double lining
Con: Chafing at times

Quick-Dry Climalite: If you need the best boxer briefs for sports and physical activity, Adidas has created a strong competitor. Of course, it comes as little surprise that the brand with the three stripes would be the one to come up with such brilliant sporting underwear. Foremost amongst the positives is the Climalite construction.

Since these boxer briefs are made of Adidas’ proprietary Climalite material, you’ll find that they’re much better at wicking away sweat and absorbing any other moisture. When you put this underwear on, you’ll feel like it fits almost like a second skin, which is integral for sports and exercise.

While the double lining and the Climalite used in the making of this underwear makes it well-suited for working out and sports, it can also cause trouble. In very intense heat, you'll find that your sweat starts to build up in the underwear and it can lead to some pretty nasty discomfort.

UNDER ARMOUR MENS ORIGINAL SERIES BOXERJOCK

Pro: Very stretchy fabric
Con: Uncomfortable seam down the middle

Fitted Athletic Underwear: The Original Series Boxerjock from Under Armour is one of the more popular options for men looking for athletic underwear. With a reputation like Under Armour’s, it makes sense to expect a lot from this underwear, but in reality, you get a bit of a mixed bag.

Most of our tests were centered around athletic activity, though we did also try out this underwear day-to-day, but it seems better-suited for sports. The fitted style of this underwear means that it’s tight enough not to get in your way while you are playing sports or working out but it isn’t as uncomfortable as compression underwear.

There is one glaring error with this underwear, and it’s puzzling because it’s the source of quite a bit of discomfort. There is a huge seam down the middle of the front of this underwear which is quite uncomfortable, especially when your privates brush up against it.
UNDERGENTS MEN’S TRUNK UNDERWEAR

Pro: Surprisingly comfortable
Con: Size runs a bit large

Cloudsoft Compression Fabric: This compression-style underwear from UnderGents is far more comfortable than other products with a similar fit, and it is mainly due to the fabric that is used in their construction. The Cloudsoft compression fabric provides a mixture of breathability and comfort that is unmatched.

With most other underwear, you usually have to decide between breathability and comfort, but UnderGents has managed to create fabric that is both supple and ready for exercise. Even after having worn this underwear for hours, we still didn't notice much of an odor buildup either.

Most of what we experienced during our review with this underwear was positive, though we had some trouble with the sizing. We tried a few different sizes of underwear, and we noticed that most of them tended to run a little bit larger than what you would expect, so be prepared for that when you order.

CALVIN KLEIN MEN’S PRO MESH BOXER BRIEFS

Pro: Breathable mesh
Con: A little bit of a tight fit

Stretchy and Breathable Mesh Fabric: Calvin Klein is well-known for making some of the most stylish underwear on the market, and this is certainly the case with this product. Made of a breathable mesh fabric, these boxer briefs are ideally suited for either daily use or for physical activity.

This underwear is a bit of a hybrid between the two kinds of briefs that we just mentioned, as it isn’t fully sweat-wicking and absorbent, but it is good enough for some light activity. Unlike many other boxer briefs that are made of mesh, you’ll find that this underwear is surprisingly soft and comfy.

While the material itself isn’t abrasive or uncomfortable, you’ll find that these boxer briefs tend to run a little bit tighter than other options. If you aren’t a fan of a tighter fit, then you’ll probably end up with some minor discomfort as a result of this Calvin Klein underwear.

5MAYI MEN’S BOXER BRIEFS

Pro: More durable than other options
Con: Cotton is a little rough

Double-Stitched Cotton: If you’re looking for comfort, then you probably know that cotton is the best material that you can have your underwear made of, and that is certainly true for these boxer briefs from 5Mayi. In addition to being comfortable and roomy, this underwear is also exceptionally durable.

The double-stitching process that was used in the making of these boxer briefs ensures that they will last far longer than many other choices. The cotton itself is a little bit thinner than you would expect from a more rugged pair of underwear, but they are so well-made that it doesn’t make a difference.

Unfortunately, you have to pay the price for the improved durability of this underwear, but it's nothing too severe. This isn't the softest cotton underwear in the world as the material has a bit of a rougher grain than you would get from some of the more expensive cotton options.

ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief

Pro: Bacteria-resistant material
Con: Questionable quality control

Light Diamond Mesh: If you need a pair of boxer briefs that you can use on any adventure, then the ExOfficio Give-n-Go boxer briefs should be perfect for you. This underwear is made out of a strong and breathable diamond mesh that can put up with much more abuse than the average pair.

Another notable feature is the anti-microbial coating that is applied to these boxer briefs, which keeps them clean and smell-free even after extended use. The fabric that this underwear is made of is also pretty stretchy, which helps ensure that you don’t rip it when you’re in the middle of a workout.

While this underwear may be well-suited for the active customer, you’ll find that there are some issues with the consistency of the build quality. Some of these boxer briefs come with loose threads and other imperfections that you should always keep an eye out for when they first arrive.

KAYIZU MEN’S UNDERWEAR

Pro: Holds shape very well
Con: A little too spacious

Contoured Fit Boxer Briefs: While this underwear from KAYIZU may not look all that impressive at first glance, you’ll find that it’s functional and reasonably resilient. One of the most notable things about this underwear is that it almost never rides up on your legs without being uncomfortably tight.

Most areas of this underwear are well-contoured, so it conforms to your legs comfortably without causing any abrasion. Even after a long day of work, you’ll find that this underwear has maintained its shape pretty well, without the legs stretching out and causing you problems.

One of the only downsides to this underwear is that it has a little bit too much room in the pouch area. Some may prefer a bit of extra space, but we found it strange that every other part of this underwear was well-contoured except for the pouch.

Best Men’s Underwear Buying Guide

When was the last time that you bought a pack of underwear? If it wasn’t recently, then you may not remember what you prize in the right pair. This section should have you covered, as we’ll be going over the most crucial features and aspects to search for in your new pair of undies.

Best Fitting Men's Underwear

Of course, the most critical thing that you should consider when buying your new underwear is the fit. By this, we mean more than just how well the underwear fits you in specific, though that’s also a critical matter to account for, and you should always compare your measurements to the sizing guide.

Even within the same category of underwear (boxers, briefs, etc.), you'll find that various products tend to fit differently, so you'll have to get a pair in a style that you like. Some people prefer tighter underwear while others like it looser, but no fit's flat-out better as everyone has different tastes.

The one thing that you want to ensure when looking at the fit of a pair of underwear is that they are neither too tight nor too loose. If your underwear is too tight, it will end up pinching you, and it may even cut off circulation in your legs. On the other hand, loose underwear will just fall off.

Most Durable Men's Underwear

Another thing that you’ll want to look for in your new underwear is a sufficient degree of resilience, and this may come as a bit of a surprise, but it makes sense upon further consideration. Most of us don’t decide to throw out a pair of underwear until it grows threadbare, and the longer that takes, the better.

Having long-lasting underwear means that you’ll be able to save money in the long run since you won’t need to purchase new pairs anywhere near as often as you would otherwise. A pack of 15 dollar underwear that lasts for longer than a year is a better investment than 10 dollar underwear that lasts for a few months.

The most integral aspect that affects the durability of your underwear is the material that it’s made of, so you’ll want to look for ones that are made of quality cotton or nylon. Even though pricier underwear tends to last longer, you shouldn’t always go for the more expensive option.

Another thing to consider is that long-lasting underwear will usually feature better build quality (and comfort) than other products.

  • Quality and Package: There are black underwear men pack of 5,in a frosting zip bag, which is convenient to...
  • Comfortable Men's Underwear: Made from natural cotton mens underwear men pack, comfortable to wear all day...

Extras

Some pairs of underwear come with additional features that you wouldn't expect to see in your typical briefs. For example, some pairs come with pouches that give you an extra spot to keep your valuables or other items that you wouldn't want to risk falling out of your pants or other pockets.

There are also pairs of underwear that are coated with odor blocking sprays and other substances that can prevent odor from building up over time. The only other thing that would typically make you throw out a pair of underwear is odor buildup, and this coating will keep them fresh for some time to come.

Some pairs of underwear are designed for athletic use first and foremost so they’ll tend to be made of nylon and other absorbent and stretchy materials. Many pairs of athletic underwear will feature breathable panels to ensure that you don’t have to deal with heat and sweat build-up over the course of a workout.
